Phone Works
by Sarah Barker

Phone Works is a series of new mobile phone photographs by Sarah Barker.

After smashing her digital SLR camera to pieces on a polished concrete floor of a hipster cafe in Surry Hills (it was an accident), the only other camera available was her mobile phone. It wasn’t long before it became her camera of choice. Within its parameters, she captures the simple beauty of everyday life.

Sarah Barker was Joint Winner of Tap Gallery’s 2013 Out of my Pocket mobile phone competition and winner of its People’s Choice Award. One of her mobile phone photo-portraits is a finalist in the 2014 DUO Magazine Percival Photographic Portrait Prize. Phone Works is presented in association with Head On Photo Festival.

Exhibition runs from 20 May to 1 June

Opening Night: Wednesday 21st May
